A professional approach to 'Alla Prima' (all in one go) oil painting. Everyone has their own space, with Professional easel, painting table, paints, brushes etc. ALL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED. Blending, mixing colour, preparing canvas, brushes, composition etc. Tuition manual is included.

This is a very concise oil painting weekend, starting at the beginning, with the essential brush work skills, then going on to colour, (how to mix - tones etc) then going on to your own compositions. Tel: 0118 9483155

SATURDAY

Arrive 9.45-10.0am Refreshments in the upstairs lounge. Meet your fellow artists. Introduction to JoeDaisy Studio and your Professional Artist.

10.00am Paints, brushes and equipment. KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT. A complete overview, explanation and comparison of products. Every artist has their own space with professional easel, painting table and hi stool. ALL YOUR PROFESSIONAL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED.

Caroline shows you how to prepare your canvas and demonstrates techniques. Caroline or Colin start at the beginning with palettes, painting knives, painting brushes etc and shows you how to prepare your canvas for painting. You paint along with Caroline or Colin and learn how to; compose your painting, create a focal point, balance/mix colour etc. The first session is brush marks and blending

12.30am Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Lounge. We cater for vegetarians and any special dietary requirements. During the day, there is a coffee machine, tea, herbal drinks, soft drinks, bottled water and wine available - along with nibbles and you are encouraged to make the Studio 'your home' for the weekend i.e take rests whenever you want to, walk around, look at the art books, look at the paintings and prints in the Gallery, sit and chat etc. We want you to feel as if you are at home but with the added bonus of every top quality Professional art material and facility you could desire!

1.30pm 2nd session - we move onto colour - with your own still life..

4.0pm We talk about what you want to paint tomorrow and prepare your canvas for tomorrow's painting.

5.0pm Day Ends

10.00am Start Your Painting. Canvas size up to 80x80cm

12.30pm Buffet Lunch in the Upstairs Lounge

1.30pm CARRY ON PAINTING

3.00 ASSESSMENT AND CHAT

This weekend course is an Introduction to Oil Painting and we cover all the basics to compose harmonious art works. Most students come back for more specific teaching but this is a great course to start with AND an exclusive opportunity to use top quality professional materials with tuition from an exceptionally talented and capable professional artist.
